WHEN TO COME AND WHAT TO BRING

Shergarh opens November – May

November Kanha at its most green, lush and dense.
Pleasant temperatures but cool mornings. Bring layers.
December - January Spectacular morning mists. Very chilly mornings.
Bring many layers including hats, scarves, gloves and thermals.
February - March Kanha in blossom and changing colours.
Cool mornings, but afternoons can get hot. Bring layers.
April - May Dry forest provides easier sightings. Hot days and warm evenings. Bring sunscreen, caps and cool scarves.

 

Due to daily fluctuations in temperatures and climate we suggest you bring sun protection and waterproofs.

We also advise you to bring:
- Binoculars and camera film;
- Natural coloured clothing for game drives and bird watching;
- Personal medicines.

 

Mosquitos and Malaria - While we have made every effort to reduce mosquitos at Shergarh, you will be travelling through the area where malaria prevails. Bring repellents, and if you are coming from abroad - take anti-malarials.

 

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO MONEY EXCHANGE FACILITY AVAILABLE
While we accept major currencies and traveller's cheques for payments at Shergarh, we cannot
exchange money or accept credit cards. The nearest facilities are in Nagpur and Jabalpur.
